GREENER is a women-led, community-based organization in Nigeria dedicated to advancing the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) of women and girls.
Our focus extends to promoting environmental justice, sustainable development, and improving healthcare access for economically marginalized, environment-dependent communities. We are also committed to supporting children, mothers, and women living with Type 1 diabetes (T1D) in vulnerable communities by providing education, screenings, treatment access, and awareness programs to reduce stigma and improve health outcomes.

At GREENER, we strive to empower the most vulnerable and socially disadvantaged women and girls, ensuring they have the knowledge, resources, and opportunities to exercise their rights, lead healthier lives, and build more resilient communities.

Our story
Founded with a vision of social and environmental justice, GREENER has been at the forefront of
advocating for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), safe abortion care, and
sustainable development. We believe that every woman and girl, especially those who are
economically marginalized and environment-dependent deserves the knowledge, resources, and
freedom to make informed choices about their bodies and futures.
But justice extends beyond reproductive rights. At GREENER, we also champion the rights and
well-being of children, mothers, and women living with Type 1 diabetes (T1D) in vulnerable
communities. For too long, stigma and lack of access to care have placed unnecessary burdens on
those living with T1D. Through education, screenings, advocacy, and access to treatment, we work
to break barriers, reduce complications, and improve health outcomes for those affected.
With a passionate team and a commitment to lasting change, we strive to eliminate gender-based
violence, harmful practices like CEFM and FGM, and health inequalities—all while promoting a
sustainable, just world where every woman and girl can thrive, regardless of circumstance.
Our team
Our leadership comprises women from the communities we serve, ensuring that our initiatives are guided by those who understand the unique challenges and needs of these areas. This inclusive and intersectional approach ensures that our programs are not only effective but also culturally sensitive and relevant. By involving community members in leadership and decision-making processes, we ensure that our efforts are grounded in local realities and truly address the needs of the most vulnerable and marginalized women and girls.
